Pelican Greens Annual Timeshare Meeting At Breezy Point, MN

A Report On Our Annual Pelican Greens Timeshare Meeting
January 21, 2012 Was Our Pelican Greens Annual Meeting
Since my wife and I live only 2.5 hrs away from the RCI affiliated Breezy Point Resort in Northern Minnesota that we had recently purchased on the re-sale market. This is the deeded Spring/Summer week we’ve mentioned in other articles that we purchased in Pelican Greens for $400. We decided to attend the annual meeting in order to be more familiar with the members of the Board of Directors of Pelican Greens as well as to discover more about how our maintenance fees contribute to the upkeep of our unit.
We were able to understand first- hand what decisions were made concerning the units and to add some input if we had any ideas worth considering. What impressed my wife and I was how down- to -earth these non-salaried volunteer members were. What also surprised us was how few Pelican Greens timeshare owners were in attendance. Counting the Board of Directors, there were only 5-7 other Pelican Greens timeshare owners. We just barely outnumbered the Board of Directors out of roughly 200 timeshare owners in our 4 unit building.
The Board of Directors went over the financial aspects of the 4 unit, log-cabin-type building and indicated that there was no need for any time share maintenance increase for 2012. That was good news. Our maintenance fee for our 2 bedroom sleeps 6 unit is only $605 for the year. That’s only $50 per month that guarantees my family a great vacation for 7 days every year only 2.5 hrs from home. Where else can you find accommodations like this? Take a look at the Pelican Greens Unit and I’m sure you’ll see why it’s well-worth owning it.
Another comment we have is similar to voting for a President. If you don’t take an interest in the time share deeded week that you purchased, don’t complain. But take a peek again at our Pelican Greens Unit and ask yourself , “Would I rather vacation at a nice resort like Breezy Point every year for $605 for the week, or would I prefer to stay in a motel for $700 to $1,000 or more for one week?”
If you are close enough to your home resort, we strongly suggest that you attend your annual meeting. The board of directors appreciates your attendance and any input you may have in order to continue to have a quality resort. If you aren’t happy about what is happening at your home resort, this is where you can take the opportunity to have your thoughts and ideas expressed.
