We read with interest about the newest timeshare scheme in the Australia, Fiji and New Zealand area. It is the same old points scheme here in the USA. Nothing new. They now call it credits instead of points. The minimum number of credits or points you can purchase is 6,000 and the most people can buy is 12,000. When the new owner joins they will receive the same number of credits each year.
As we have stated numerous times we do not like points or credits. We own 3 deeded timeshare weeks and we trade annually for 3 deeded weeks. We bought each week on the re-sale market, and there are thousands available. We paid a total of $3,400 for the 3 weeks.
For example; In this new WorldMark club in the Australian and South Pacific area you could purchase 12,000 credits at $2.574 each along with a $99 yearly establishment or trading fee would come to $41,349. Eighty percent of the customers would finance at 13.25%. You would also pay a annual maintenance fee of roughly $900 or more.
Well, I don’t know about you but a lot of people in Australia, Fiji and New Zealand must be making a lot of money to buy in at those prices.
