Colorado, Lakeside Terrace Timeshare
Timeshare Owners! The Avon and Vail, Colorado area in the summer is a great place to have fun.
We are not skiers, but this July 2009 vacation with our daughter and husband and grandchildren at Lakeside Terrace in Vail Valley , Colorado was wonderful. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a summer vacation in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
In 2009 we checked into our first ever Colorado timeshare resort. The picture in the Interval International Directory looked good. The resort was and is listed in the Directory as a “Gold Leaf” or in the past a “5 Star” resort, which means the highest level of recognition, providing an outstanding experience, with state-of-the-art conveniences, and modern features and appointments.
This resort listed fly fishing, golf and trail rides nearby at Rocky Mountain National Park. It included, adjacent to the resort, the Avon Recreation Center’s diving pool, lap pool and leisure pool, with a 150-foot water slide. The timeshare villas were listed as 1,400 square-foot, two-bedroom, two bath villas featuring comfortable living rooms, gas fireplaces, fully equipped kitchens, whirlpool baths and private balconies looking directly at the mountains. Boy, how could go wrong with these types of appointments.
We were excited because our daughter and her husband and our 2 grandchildren were going to vacation with us. We love it when other family members can join us in large accommodations like Lakeside Terrace in the Vail Valley
My wife and I are not skiers. We wondered what the Avon and Vail area of Colorado could offer us as far as entertainment during the summer. We were not disappointed in our one week of timesharing with our daughter and her husband and our grandchildren. There was plenty to do. Of course, with grandchildren, swimming was one of the main attractions on the resort.

The pool at Lakeside Terrace was in an indoor building about 1/2 block from the timeshare condo we were staying in. These timeshare vacations with friends and relatives are the dream vacations that most people pictured when they initially purchased their timeshares. This is a picture of one of those times.

Well, what else was there to do in Avon and Vail, Colorado. We took a summer cable car ride to the top of the mountain

and the surrounding mountains. There was horseback riding, bike rentals for mountain trail rides, and rodeos in the evenings.

WOW! So much to do in this area in the summer. This is something I have never done. It sure was fun watching my grandson doing this.
I don't know what you call this thing but my grandson loved it!
One of thing other things my wife and I have never done was white water rafting. Hmmmm!
A first time adventure for the entire family. What a trip! A little scary the first 10 minutes of the river, the roughest.
Well, we decided to give it a try. It was most exhilarating, particularly the first 10 minutes of the white water, the roughest part of the river. We ended up riding about 20 miles on the river with a delicious lunch provided at the end of the ride.
One of the best parts of timeshare condo vacations is eating most of our meals together and sharing stories of the days’ adventures and special events like having a Birthday party. It is also a special time to plan the next days’ events. We love it!
Sharing meals together makes vacations special.
