The key to successful timeshare vacations lies in your monthly budget. But next year’s timeshare vacations should have started one year earlier within your monthly bill paying budget. For example: At one of the three timeshare resorts at which we own, the maintenance fee annually is $556.00 per year. The associations at almost all timeshare resorts bill at the end of each year for the coming year. Well, that is the worst possible time for my family to pay $556.00, considering Christmas and New Years.
So, years ago we decided to start sending our resorts next year’s maintenance fee budget of $556 in advance by budgeting $46.33 each month . ( Consider this real life example: I was buying two cups of coffee each day for a total outlay of $3.00 to $4.00 . I decided to cut my coffee consumption in half, thereby saving $1.50 to $2.00 each day, making it easy to pay the $46.33 per month vacation maintenance fee. So, each year by December, we had prepaid the timeshare maintenance fee in advance, guaranteeing us a 7 day timeshare vacation at a beautiful resort.) It’s that simple. By the time December 31st rolls around, we have already paid for and usually exchanged into another resort.
So, here’s the bottom line. Budgeting for a 7 day vacation motivated us to cut out purchasing two cups of coffee each day.
