Why My Wife And I Do Not Like Timeshare Points…

Apply for your $12 RCI Points settlement before August 24, 2012

Dinner on a catamaran on Lake Tahoe

This article was written last year 2012. Can you imagine being a timeshare points owner applying for a $12 settlement while the lawyers made millions in the settlement?

This is one reason we do not own the timeshare points program. We own specific deeded weeks only and trade like for like. When a salesman tells us that a timeshare unit is assigned so many points based on the resorts facilities, time of year, demand and whatever else they throw into the mix it is very confusing.

However, what we bought on the timeshare re-sale market is a deeded 7 day week in which we exchange for a deeded 7 day week. Nothing more and nothing less. No confusion about points for airlines, so many points for winter or summer weeks based on popularity etc.etc.

About the RCI Points® Exchange Program

A Settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit that claims that RCI, LLC violated certain consumer protection and other laws by renting timeshare inventory deposited by members of the RCI Points Exchange Program. RCI denies it did anything wrong.

Am I included? You are included if you (1) Are a resident of the U.S. or its territories, and (2) Were a member of the RCI Points Exchange Program on or before April 25, 2012.”

What a crock?

Were your timeshare experiences good or bad. Can you recommend your favorite resorts?
