Warning! The Expense Of Las Vegas, Besides Gambling!

The expense of Las Vegas, besides gambling

Warning! Your expenses to visit Las Vegas may exceed your budget thinking. Is it worth it? We found some very interesting information about what is being charged for in Las Vegas, what once was “free”.

Check out “Las Vegas Advisor”

Before planning your trip or vacation to Las Vegas, even if you own timeshare or exchange into Las Vegas with a timeshare.

We got caught up in this additional expense when we exchanged through Interval International into Las Vegas. When we checked out we were informed we owed additional expenses that we were not, at check-in, informed about.

  1. Daily room tax in that county similar to a hotel tax
  2. Daily Internet charge

The Las Vegas Advisor will provide you with all the information you will need concerning these additional fees that are now being charged while in Las Vegas. Maybe it’s time to travel to other interesting places.

Timeshare Rentals Through Craigslist!

Timeshare Rentals Through Craigslist!

All we can say is use caution. We have purchased hard goods through Craig’s List but have never rented or looked for timeshare accommodations. It’s like anything else in this high tech day and age. Be careful.  We are including some Craig’s links  that might help.

Some idea’s maybe:

Here is an idea. It’s one we took advantage of.   My wife and I were looking at a online magazine called “Tug2.net” that we subscribe to. In the magazine we found a timeshare owner willing to sell his deeded week at a 5 Star Resort here in Minnesota for only $400 and no closing cost to us. It was a prime summer week, just when most schools are letting out kids for the summer. The seller paid $8,900 many years earlier and had used the week for exchanging all over the U.S. They were now willing just to let it go.

We purchased this deeded and titled memorial timeshare week for $400 60 days prior to the week to be used. All the closing was done prior to the vacation week and we were able to use our own 2 bedroom sleep 8 unit at this 5 Star resort and have enjoyed it every year since.

So, look for buyers willing to sell for little or nothing and make an offer.

1. Ask for details, resort ownership, points ownership, who owns the property and can it be verified through the resort.

2. What is the rental price, does it include WiFi, sales taxes, resort charges etc, etc.

3. Could you rent through the resorts association, what would it cost. Is there a phone # to verify the rental through the resort>

A Timeshare Exchange Suggestion – WiFi Charges…

Timeshare WiFi Charges – Be Prepared

Westgate Resorts, BransonWoods

If you are exchanging to timeshare resorts other than your own, do some homework if you plan to take your iPad or computers along. Call the resorts beforehand and ask about Internet charges.

More and more timeshare owners today use their computers for uploading pictures or taking care of personal business while on their vacations.

Others,  like us,  use them  to keep the timeharefun website updated while on vacation. It’s easier for us to do these tasks daily rather than waiting until we get home.

Forgetting to ask about Wireless Internet before arriving at resorts we checked into, we found the charges to be surprisingly high.

For example, we checked into Branson Woods in June this summer and asked about Internet charges. We were surprised to discover they were in the $40 range for 7 days. We had no choice because it’s essential for us to have internet access. The timeshare unit we checked into in the picture below was about 5-6 blocks away from the office.

The Internet in our timeshare unit did not work properly. So, during the week we went up to the main check-in area and were able to use the wireless Internet there since we had paid for the service.

Fortunately we had our scooter along for running back and forth. We did mention this to the main check-in person as we were leaving. No problem, she credited us the money back.

In Colorado, we were charged $21.95 for 3 days at Grand Timber Lodge.  When at Cancun Resort in Las Vegas, we were not advised about Internet until after we checked into the resort and it was a 3 day charge of $21.95.

So, don’t forget to ask before you check into the timeshare resorts about Internet charges that may or may not apply. Click on the links below for other timeshare owners experiences.
