Timeshare Perspectives From Other Timeshare Owners…
My wife and I are biased timeshare owners. We only believe in the original concept of timeshare ownership. You own one week and you exchange for one week. We are not advocates of the RCI or other Points systems.
Think about it. You have 52 weeks in a year. The resort sells only 51 weeks to 51 families leaving one week each year for maintenance. Easily understandable, right?
Now comes along a cleaver idea. A timeshare corporation comes up with a way to make more money. Points!
They come up with assigning points based on the rating of a resort, whether it is a gold star, silver star, its amenities, time of year, one bedroom, two bedroom, when the resort has the most demand or less demand.
Then the timeshare corporation determines how these points are determined at each resort and then throw in whether it is a Wyndham resorts, Hilton resorts, Westgate resorts and blah, blah, blah.
Next they decide how points are used for air travel, hotel rooms, cruises and blah, blah, blah.
So, instead of having 51 timeshare owners in a timeshare unit they have millions of points by thousands of owners who have been sold on points.
So,in the interest of fairness here are views from other timeshare owners. Confusing at least. Educate yourselves. And take a look at the resale market.
